New Arrangements For Approval Of Qualifications For Public Funding
As communicated in Update 181 our Interim Arrangements for the approval of new Qualification and Credit Framework qualifications for public funding were extended until November 2013 in order to allow us to take into account all feedback received from awarding organisations, colleges and training organisations on our proposed new rules for approving qualifications for funding.
The Interim Arrangements have now ended. During the period 21 November 2013 to 1 January 2014 we will temporarily halt the approval process. This will be in order to prepare for the new arrangements. Any existing qualifications which were not approved as part of Interim Arrangements will be reviewed against the new arrangements for approving qualifications in January 2014.
In January 2014 we will publish Technical Guidance for Awarding Organisations on the new arrangements for the approval of qualifications for public funding and we will apply these new arrangements to all qualifications appearing on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications from 1 January 2014 onwards.
